The Victorian
Mansion at Los Alamos - California
“On the outside, the Victorian Mansion is a gorgeous,
recently-renovated 1864 Victorian nestled in the heart of
Santa Barbara wine country. On the inside, it houses six
incredible theme suites featuring theme beds, in-room hot
tubs, fireplaces and hidden bathrooms. Music, fragrance,
hand-painted murals and tiles, movies and furniture will
immerse you in the fantasy of your choice - will you stay in
a sheik's tent? A 50's drive-in? A pirate ship? A gypsy
caravan?

The Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast was built in 1864
and moved to its present location in 1980. Over 200 expert
craftsmen, artisans, and artists spent almost 10 years
creating the theme suites inside. Spiral staircases, a
cannon coffee table, an Egyptian sarcophagus, a chariot, and
a 1956 Cadillac convertible are just a few of the
curiosities you will find inside. Each of the theme suites
also include a hot, gourmet breakfast that will magically
appear each morning through your own private food butler.
Fantasy does not come at the expense of luxury or taste. Each suite features
impeccable decor and premium mattresses, sheets, towels and bathrobes. With
their standard rates, a delicious bottle of local wine waits for you on
arrival.
The Victorian Mansion was selected as one of the top 10 Quirkiest Hotels in
the United States by Trip Advisor, one of National Geographic Traveler’s
Quirky Hotels around the Country, Offbeat Backroads: #1 favorite, France’s
Le Guide Du Routard’s ‘must see’ in California, and one of Peter Guttman’s
“10 Most Quirky Overnights in the U.S.”.
The Victorian Mansion Suites
'50's Suite
If you are in the mood to either relive the 50’s or experience this era of
Rock ‘n Roll for the first time, you’ll enjoy a blast from the past! This
themed suite features a ’56 Cadillac convertible parked at a romantic
drive-in movie—yes, your own giant screen with authentic movie-style
projector! There are neon lights, a mood-setting snack bar mural, inviting
fireplace and private hot tub. The spacious suite gives you plenty of room
to relax for an unforgettable stay. Isn’t it time you make the scene and
cool it for a night or two?
Gypsy Suite
The enchanting Gypsy Suite will trigger your sense of wanderlust as you
experience an inviting campfire and a cozy bed in a caravan wagon. Forest
rain sounds surround you as you sleep peacefully, and Gypsies grace your
shower room. Through the glade, a stream in a wooded mural cascades into
your sunken hot tub. The spacious camp grounds will spark your wishes for
relaxation. Without the help of a fortune teller you’ll know your future
holds a special experience when you stay in this suite.
Egyptian Suite
What could be more romantic than a sheik’s tent in a desert oasis? The
beautifully draped, four-poster-style raised bed becomes the focal point of
this spacious tented suite. Adding to the ambience are Persian rugs, wall
hangings, images of sand dunes and palm trees. A life-size King Tut
sarcophagus adorns the wall, and hides a secret entrance to your themed
bath. Step up to a raised hot tub that will soak away the Sahara sand from
your weary body. Isn’t it time you escaped reality and enjoyed this desert
fantasy?
Roman Suite
Rome may not have been built in a day, however, you’ll feel like an emperor
for a night or two as you lounge in your chariot bed, discover the bookshelf
that leads to your “throne,” or climb the marble steps to an elegant sunken
hot tub with views of Rome burning in the background. Beautiful murals share
famous Roman images amidst columns and arches, while special lighting and
theme movies enhance the mood. You’re welcome to bring your leather sandals
and linen tunic, but you really don’t need them to enjoy the enchantment of
this empire.
Pirate Suite
Ahoy mates! If you’ve ever had a secret desire to experience the life of a
pirate on a sailing ship, this suite offers you a luxurious stay in the
captain’s quarters. There’s a cozy captain's bed, wood and stone fireplace,
red sea lanterns that sway with the sound of waves and sea gulls, and a
treasure map that’ll lead you to your private bathroom. The painted tile hot
tub and stained glass windows, along with a pirate’s treasure chest and
spacious quarters are bound to make this an adventure to remember.
